The turn of the week was marked by historical event for our zone. .TJ zone free two-lettered domains ran out, i.e. domains like LL.tj (L - any letter of Roman alphabet). Now if you wish to register short two-lettered domain in TJ zone, you will not be able to do it, because all domains are occupied.

 

Current event caused delight from domains owners' side, who made investments to .TJ zone in time. The fact that .TJ zone free two-lettered domains ran out means that market value of such domains on secondary market will automatically increase.

Simple arithmetical calculations will show that there are 676 two-lettered domains in .TJ zone altogether (as if in any other zone, based on Roman alphabet).

 

This number will be got after raising 26 (there are exactly 26 letters on Roman alphabet) to the second power. There were about 180 free two-lettered domains in .TJ zone in November, 1st. By December, 31st, there were left only 120 domains, and they ran out in February, 16th, 2008.

 

Two-lettered domains in .RU zone ran out earlier, in 2003, and now the average price of two-lettered domain in .RU zone is from 8 to 20 thousand dollars (and it is not a limit). The last two-lettered domain in .COM zone was registered in 1995, and now even the worst two-lettered domain in .COM zone could cost a six-digit sum.
